In September 2008, the departments of Art and Technology joined forces to become the Faculty of Art, Design and Technology. This gives us greater scope to build on the successes of Michaelston Community College. We have a modern and stylish approach to delivering Life Skills across the curriculum and out in the local community - welcoming students both young and returning to education.

We like to be known as Michaelston Design because good design expression is vital to our existence. Like never before, designers today are required to consider the consequences of their work and the future of our environment. Specifically, we promote sustainable innovation and are open to incorporating new ideas into our schemes of delivery.

Personally, I enjoy the challenges of manipulating our curricular framework to provide meaningful and realistic opportunities. Ely and Caerau community now enjoy good prospects for future generations, with university educated young people leading the way. The only obstacles are historical notions of low expectation, which we work very hard to expel by producing confident and qualified students, ready to take their place in a respectful and prosperous society.
